Implant Restorations

One of the most admired treatment options for missing teeth is dental implants.

An Overview

Dental implants can help you to get your smile back. A dental implant looks just like a regular tooth and is custom-made for your mouth. With dental implants, you can chew and speak normally again. While dental implants are a long-lasting solution for teeth replacement, they are not indestructible. There may be a time where you need implant restorations.

What are dental implant restorations?

Dental implants act like and resemble a natural tooth, in theory. You can brush them and floss them like your natural teeth, and with today’s technology, they can look just like your natural teeth. There are three main parts to dental implant restorations; the implant itself, the crown or visible tooth, and the abutment that connects the implant to the crown. This physical implant fixture acts as the root of your tooth. An implant is held in place by bone, acting as the foundation much like the roots of your teeth.. You do not see an implant just like the root of your teeth as both are under and covered by gum tissue. The abutment acts as a connector, attaching the crown to the implant fixture. The crown is the part that we see in the mouth that looks and acts like your tooth.
