Digital X-Rays
One of the technologies we use is digital X-rays. Digital X-rays use sensors that are placed in your mouth and create images of your mouth instantly. With digital radiographic technology, there is no waiting for your X-rays to develop. Your X-rays will be projected onto a screen so that we can better explain your dental situation in real-time. This assists with patient and doctor communication and provides a clearer image than traditional X-ray technology. These images can also easily digitally archived and can be referenced at later appointments.
Panoramic X-Rays
Another technology that we use is a panoramic X-ray machine. For this imaging, we will have you bite down on a tiny piece of plastic. Panoramic X-rays are unique because they make one full image of your entire mouth. All of your teeth, both jawbones, the nasal cavity, your sinuses, and your temporomandibular joints will all be captured in this image. Panoramic X-rays are used to see things like bone abnormalities, tumors, infections, and impacted teeth.
